Exactly this.

I am however very appalled that you were being called 'stupid feminists'. What the effing eff??? I clearly was on the behaving side of the venue, though obviously I did see the beer and heard the boo-ing and I could clearly see the reaction of the people on the side of the stage who clearly have been looking forward to the Slits and were actually proud to have them on there. I felt sorry for all bands involved. There isn't a way to talk this right, because it wasn't right. But unexpected? Only the size if it I'm afraid to say. Which is probably a quite sad thing to say.

I originally didn't want to say anything about this because I don't want to have this to overshadow the great time and generally fantastic birthday weekend I was having. I won't allow it to overshadow anything anyway and it didn't, ignore the ignorant, educate the person next to you and if those tossers take the band words to heart and simply never show up at a Cribs gig again, we're done.

I got a feeling this may change the way the cribs make their future music. I was at Arctic Monkeys at Ally pally and they had the horrors supporting and they got PELTED with coins, beer and all sorts. Alex turner made a point of slagging off the fans during the gig. Then the band went away for a long time and came back with a new sound...

i hope that isn't true. i mean, i would probably really enjoy a ferocious punk album or something-but if you really believe in educating the person next to you, well, the cribs have got four thousand people next to them at every gig. telling hem to piss off and not come back isnt going to acheive very much is it? the bigger you are, the more minds you can change

The Arctic Monkeys went away 'for a long time'? Did I miss anything? Half a year is not a long time. But then I'm not an AM fan by far.

I don't think the Cribs will change their future music because of this. In what direction? What happened is something they've been talking and singing against for the longest time. If they change everything due to a few knobheads, I don't know what I'll do. It's okay to be pissed off at those idiots (moderately), but to change everything because of them? Ignore the ignorant, anyone? I'm not saying let this pass by unmentioned but to throw things around because of it is a little weak.

So much for me staying out of it...

I said this to Moomin last night, I really shouldn't have let it spoil my night but to be it did. If i'm honest i dislike the venue as it is and wasn't as excited about this gig due to the venue but i thought when the bands come on it doesn't matter where we are it will be a good show.

I was gobsmacked by the lack of respect for the supporting acts, you kinda expected that behaviour at festivals and some other bands (who will remain nameless) gigs but not The Cribs. It was the knobhead behaviour that ended my love affair with the Chiefs and part of me thought (probably for selfish reasons) Its gonna happen to The Cribs, now don't get me wrong we all want the band to do well and welcome new fans with open arms but i just do not understand the need to throw pints/coins etc. If you don't like the support go to the bar or out for a cig.

The reception The Slits received did spoil my night- i take things really personally, i left that gig feeling like i haven't just seen The Cribs- i know i was there, but i wasn't if you get me (strange i know)

Proper kicking myself for not buying Xfm Winter Wonderland tickets, i could have done with it now :(

yes please.
I'm so shocked to read all this, but it's sadly indicative of the shift in the band's fans - lots of people missing the point and seeing them as just another lad band, and thinking that it gives them a licence to act like a dickhead at the gigs.

I feel sorry for the people who weren't able to enjoy the Cribs because of the idiots that were there. I was very uncomfortable with what was going on as well, and even afterwards I thought about it a lot and even dreamed of it, but while the Cribs were playing I managed to have a good time and enjoy myself and just managed to forget about it for 1,5 hours. I hope that it was like that for most other people too.

If the gig was pulled I think I'd've understood and that shows you how bad it was.

Thing is, the people who'd do shit like that probably aren't that bothered about the band - just another night on the lash and a story for them to tell their numb knuckle dragging mates.

This would never happen in Escobar...

I was also really shocked an appauled at how these wankers treat The Slits too. like someone else said it clearly wasn't to do with the music cos it all started before they even played 1 song. maybe i'm a bit nieve but i've never actually been to a gig before where i have experienced a band get boo'd/pelted. it really wasn't nice at all :( . Just because you don't like a band it is no excuse to behave like that. I've seen some support bands in the past at other bands gigs who i havn't really liked. i just stood and watched/went to the bar and let everyone else enjoy them who liked them. I didn't go around throwing coins/booing etc cos thats just disrespectful. just because you don't like a band, what gives you the god given right to go around behaving like that? they're was just selfish wankers who treat the gig as a night out to get pissed basically and didn't give too shits how they behaved,or whether they upset the The Cribs,The Slits,or the other bands.
These type of people are the exact reason i'm not gonna bother with Leeds Festival this year.last year it was pretty much full of dicks behaving in similar ways (even throwing wheelie bins into the crowd/lobbing stuff/and pushing peole about on purpose and just basically behaing like yobs).luckily my battery had died when i was watching lovvers so i lost my friends. otherwise i would have been where this happened cos my mates got caught up in it.One of my mates ended up having a panic attack and she was scared for her life.even when these wankers saw how upset and terrified they was they just carried on.what a bunch of souless fucks!!!
Maybe i'm letting them win by not going but i just can't be arsed with idiots like that.If The Cribs play i'll probably get a day ticket but i'm not staying the whole weekend. I just found myself walking round a lot this year thinking what a nobhead, why would you behave like that and i just can't be arsed with all that again next year!

BIt off topic there sorry but thats been brewing a while so had to be said. These yobs did spoil my night to be honest. they just killed the whole atmospehere and even when The Cribs were on there seemed this right unfriendly aggressive atmosphere around where i was stood and i kept getting distracted thinking just fuck off for fucks sake, so i couldn't properly enjoy the band cos of them :( . The boy's still but on a great show though. I kinda wish they would have took another number out of the set to piss them off, but then again that wouldn't have been fair on the fans who wanted to hear it so nvm about that. I thought that was proper disrescpectful of them too when Los Camp were playing The Sea Is a Good Place To Think Of The Future and they was just repeatidly chanting the Another Number riff over and over. it really pissed me off cos i love that song and all the way through the 1st verse all i could here was them wankers shouting that  . they was just rude, disrespectful, ignorant, arrogant tossers. anyways thats whey enough about there disgusting behavour, sorry i went on a bit of a rant there.

I really enjoyed The Slits.Infact i enjoyed all the support bands. I really like Sky Larkins album so it was great to here the tracks live, and Los Camp are already one of my favourite bands so that speaks for its self.great so see them again. I want to personally thank The Cribs for introducing me to a really great band :) . I had heard of them and knew they was a really iconic band, but not heard anything by them untill they were announced for support so thanks guys for getting me into them .
i thought they was a really fun band live, and i was having a good old dance around/sing along with Zoey to Typical Girls (love that song), Shoplifting and a few others i recognised off cut.I have total respect for the slits for playing on through it and delivering what was a really great set and seeing how they responded to it,cos I know that they wern't bothered in the slitist by these idiots but it can't have been very pleasent full on pint/coin dodging when your trying to play. must have been very distracting and quite demoralising.I was listening to them today on the train back from Edingburgh and i was just thinking it's such a shame that these idiots wouldn't give them a chance they're great!

Edingburgh was ace last night. I said Glasgow was my best Cribs gig before...but Edingburgh slightly tops it, it was ace :D . there was a couple of dicks but only a handfull and i suppose you get that anywhere so they didn't spoil it one bit. I was just as sqaushed as i was at Glasgow but it was a friendly sqaushing if that makes any sense :? there was no aggression in the crowd like there was from them twats at Donny it was just full of people who was there for The Cribs and all just having a great time. I loved every minute of it. My left side ribs feel like they've done 10 rounds with Tyson but what else do you expect been at the front of an epic Cribs gig  . Thanks for a truely great show guys!!!

The Slits are one of my favourite bands, and I was so excited that they were supporting The Cribs but the night was ruined for me by the disgusting behaviour of some of the audience. I was standing to the right of the stage, and whilst there were no beer/coins etc being thrown from the area I was standing, there were still people cheering whenever Ari Up got hit. I didn't at the time realise coins were being thrown, and I cannot begin to understand why anyone would find it acceptable to throw something so potentially harmful at another human being.
I have to agree with you_were_always_the_one that there was a very aggressive and unfriendly atmosphere in The Dome. Even during The Cribs set a group of lads behind me and my friend thought it was ok to push each other into us, stroke our hair, ask if we'd give them blow jobs and indulge in other idiotic behavior. We had to leave early to catch a train, and I was quite glad to get out of there because I felt quite uncomfortable.

This is the second time that I've had a bad experience at a Cribs gig due to the crowd and to be honest I'm kind of put off going to any more, which is horrible because I love The Cribs and really respect them, it's a shame arse holes have to spoil things.
