Didn't go to the London gig but I'd be up for helping you out with the Bradford gig if you need any help? was quite a special one for me that as it was my 21st birthday and the first time seeing The Thermals, who have since gone on to be one of my favourite bands :)

I've been pottering around the message boards for a while now but I'm a bit of a messageboard/social novice so I never got around to making an account - thanks to this thread I've finally had the motivation to make one!

But more on topic, I made one cos I'd definitely be interested in contributing to this, I think it's such a brilliant idea for the Cribs community to come together and contribute to something collective that I'm sure would mean a lot to everyone individually as well as collectively. So I'm more than interested in giving my two cents, I went to the Coventry gig so there are undoubtedly some stories I could recall from that raucously brilliant night, I'm also huge fans of other likeminded bands such as Comet Gain and Huggy Bear who've of course influenced The Cribs, and what with Ryan producing Comet Gain's new album that could be an interesting thing to write about/review.

So yeah, I'd love to get involved in such a great idea! (I've also got twitter if this helps in the communicative aspect).

That is so great to hear! Hello Sophie, I am Christopher, pleased to hear you want to get involved. I think that all of you suggestions are good ideas. Which one in particular would you like to do??

I wondered about writing something about #cribsforummassive - how we turned from just a load of people going on a forum to a collective with a name; we've spread out over Twitter, Facebook, etc, got the name out there, but we're not attention seeking for ourselves, we're just in love with a band and want to tell the world how brilliant we think they are. Look at Coventry and Wichiten (there may be others but they're the ones I was at that I can think of, and we all know there ain't no party without me). I think it was Laura who said it's not just a gig, it's like a family reunion. I remember standing in that queue at Wichiten watching groups of people flooding from the tube station and every so often, people running up, hugging each other, people who hadn't seen each other in months, years, people who'd never even met in person before that but who knew each other well, people who'd travelled for hundreds of miles to be there, mostly for the love of the band, but a lot cause we're mates now. People who might never have met if it wasn't for the band and the forum but have a shit ton in common and count each other as close mates.
Forums fucking rule, and I reckon I could stretch that out into at least a few hundred words.

Another good idea! I think you could probably write more than a few hundred words, based on your above post!

I'll PM you both with my email address if you want to get in touch. I've wrote something that is 3,000 words (!) which might be good or maybe a bit excessive. Check your messages in about five minutes...

Excellent! Have an idea: how would you feel writing about the Bradford gig? Like writing from another perspective? Particularly if it was a special concert for you, birthday and all.

Thank you, very kind of you to say. I actually came across The Cribs Online before the forum here, always enjoyed reading it. Actually gave me an initial idea for the fanzine thing, thinking of the views of fellow fans discussing the band in detail. If you want to write yourself, you would be more than welcome!

Hiya Sophie welcome to the forum :)

Yeah it was me that said it Hannah about the family reunion it really does feel like that!Just to add to what Hannah was saying, I love all our little meet ups I've made such good friends with lots of you and have so many memories and had such good times and like Hannah says without The Cribs we'd have highly likely have never all met. Man we have so much to thank The Jarmans for I couldn't imagine life without you guys I've become so close to so many of you.
My parents find it hillarious I have friends all over the counrty. It's quite funny when my stepdad gets confused about who licves where and who i'm going to visit where haha. Like we don't just meet up now for Cribs related stuff, we go to see other bands together and have random meet ups for nights out and stuff. I remember meeting Jade actually. I didn't meet her until February this year at Los Campesinos! in London and then became friends from that night on. Then there's times where I went up to scotland a few times last year to visit Cath when she was on works placement up there, and not to forget the awesome new years eve that me and Hannah had at Frank Turner in Darlington and then had a great night after the gig too Easily the best new years eve ever!
Then there's all the times when me, Emma and Donna have gone out for a few drinks and stuff and always had plenty of funny stories afterwards.. That's just 3 examples but there are so many more i could talk about. I suppose what I've been trying to say is we all joined the forum because of how much we all love The Cribs which all gave us something in common, but as we've got to know each other we have all grown so close and found we have lots of other things in common as well as The Cribs, but without The Cribs we woudln't have ever known any of us ever existed. The #cribsforummassive is just another reason as to why they are such a special band and there'll be no other band like them! Ever!
I actually feel a bit emotional now so I'm going to stop. Sorry if I haven't got to a point here i'm absolutrly rubbish at making my point and go around the houses.
Word limits were a nightmare for me at school/uni. Ha
