I've been pottering around the message boards for a while now but I'm a bit of a messageboard/social novice so I never got around to making an account - thanks to this thread I've finally had the motivation to make one!
But more on topic, I made one cos I'd definitely be interested in contributing to this, I think it's such a brilliant idea for the Cribs community to come together and contribute to something collective that I'm sure would mean a lot to everyone individually as well as collectively. So I'm more than interested in giving my two cents, I went to the Coventry gig so there are undoubtedly some stories I could recall from that raucously brilliant night, I'm also huge fans of other likeminded bands such as Comet Gain and Huggy Bear who've of course influenced The Cribs, and what with Ryan producing Comet Gain's new album that could be an interesting thing to write about/review.
So yeah, I'd love to get involved in such a great idea! (I've also got twitter if this helps in the communicative aspect).

I wondered about writing something about #cribsforummassive - how we turned from just a load of people going on a forum to a collective with a name; we've spread out over Twitter, Facebook, etc, got the name out there, but we're not attention seeking for ourselves, we're just in love with a band and want to tell the world how brilliant we think they are. Look at Coventry and Wichiten (there may be others but they're the ones I was at that I can think of, and we all know there ain't no party without me). I think it was Laura who said it's not just a gig, it's like a family reunion. I remember standing in that queue at Wichiten watching groups of people flooding from the tube station and every so often, people running up, hugging each other, people who hadn't seen each other in months, years, people who'd never even met in person before that but who knew each other well, people who'd travelled for hundreds of miles to be there, mostly for the love of the band, but a lot cause we're mates now. People who might never have met if it wasn't for the band and the forum but have a shit ton in common and count each other as close mates.
Forums fucking rule, and I reckon I could stretch that out into at least a few hundred words.

Didn't go to the London gig but I'd be up for helping you out with the Bradford gig if you need any help? was quite a special one for me that as it was my 21st birthday and the first time seeing The Thermals, who have since gone on to be one of my favourite bands

Excellent! Have an idea: how would you feel writing about the Bradford gig? Like writing from another perspective? Particularly if it was a special concert for you, birthday and all.
