Thanks to everyone contributing, things coming along not bad!

A few thoughtful, colourful and intimate experiences have been sent my way. I do appreciate how 'awkward' it can be sending personal moments and memories to someone you have never met in person...

I have sent a few message to people through PM. So...check your messages folks! Distinct gender imbalance towards girls who have got involved. Does that mean anything?!

Email me or PM, would love to see more submissions! Particularly for cover art, and in general creative-minded Cribs fans. Pretty much everyone then.

All the best,

Good morning...

Realised some of you lucky people are attending Rockness in Dores, Inverness-shire (three s's in a row there!) and Get Loaded in London this weekend. I am a tad jealous, but even more so hope you all have a good time! Also, to Neil et. al. at Long Division in Wakefield, I hope you have a blast and get the attention and crowd you deserve!

To those going to either, would anyone consider writing a review of how the Cribs performed? Since they are back to a three-piece now, and are high up on both bills, would be great to hear how the boys got on!

I hope all my posting in this thread is not irritating, as I do seem to witter on about this a bit. I think it is because I have the time on my hands now so want to do as much as I can.

Thanks to those getting in touch, looks like we'll have pieces from outside the UK (shock horror!). I'll have to look up postage prices to the Continent...

A week older, a week wiser...I hope these posts do not become irritating or too familiar. I'm sure it breeds contempt or something similar.

Would love to read any submissions for the fanzine, open to short or long pieces. I thought I would review what I hold at the moment. There are short (fifty words) lyrics and poems, a few personal reflections on the band (300-400 words), and a long essay (3,000 words) all completed. Moreover, eight people are currently writing things, which I thoroughly look forward to reading, and will fill the pages with thoughtful and intelligent opinion on the band. With work and other commitments, "these things take time", and I am unsure when they will arrive. All in due time, I am certain, and there is no deadline or time limit. I would like to get something out over the summer, so fingers crossed.

On a similar note, thanks must go to Jade, who got in contact with Nick Scott, the designer, who has produced some excellent artwork for the Cribs amongst other bands. Jade pointed me in the direction of Nick, who I spoke with, where he offered advice from his own time editing a fanzine, and kind words on the idea of a physical 'forum' on the band.

Feel free to submit somehing through email or PM. I really would like to read any creative work, and discretion and anonymity can be kept if so desired.

One final thing, how would people feel about sending a stamped address envelope once the fanzine is complete? A bit premature, but it is a sticking point I thought about for a while. The actual thing will be A5, which is a feasible fit, and second class postage in the UK is about 50p at most. For the Continent, which relates to few people on here, I can look into that nearer the time.

Anyway, spiel over, would love to read and hear responses! According to the 'views' counter on this topic, more than one hundred and fifty looked at it in a week. There is interest - I think! - so post here or comment if you can!

Hope those who attended - and some even played! - Rockness, Get Loaded in the Park and Long Division had a great time...

I really love the idea of a fanzine, in print, hello good old times where we didn't rely on text on computer screens and held things in our hands. A lot of effort is being put into putting everything together so I think it's nothing but fair to compensate the costs of distributing. 50p is really nothing - I'm jealous that postage in the UK is so cheap!

I also want to stress - especially to all the lurkers on this forum - that this fanzine is not exclusively a forum-only fanzine. It's for and made by anyone who loves or sympathises with the Cribs, as a band and as people. For me, this is what this fanzine is and should be about. So, if you're reading this and felt you couldn't contribute because you never posted on here or you don't know any of the people here, don't be shy and get in touch with 'b-side scenester' (his name is Christopher, nice guy), and if you have something to say that isn't longer than a tweet (we're the tweeting generation after all) or you have an essay that lasts 5,000 words, it really doesn't matter. How did you fall in love with the band? How is that album the soundtrack period of your life? How did you fall in love with one of the bands the Cribs toured with? Have a review of a Cribs related band?

I'm calling out especially to those who might think this is forum-only. It's not. You like the Cribs? Get involved! You don't need to reply to this thread even, just send a PM to B-side Scenester. Not a forum member but on twitter? Send a message @ seenshysecrets

Afternoon all.

Deadline will be Thursday 30th June. I am happy to read any submissions until then. Really looking forward to getting everything together and ready to send.

How does everyone feel about postage then? Printing and ink and what have you I am happy to do by myself, and the journal is a not-for-profit thing. Postage (no packaging, as it will fit into a regular envelope) should be ok. Just let me know of your address (I hope that doesn't sound strange) and I can sort that out. PM or email.

Good morning folks,

Think I have set up Paypal correctly, but I will have to make sure it is safe with the fraud squad...

Awaiting between two and four pieces. Laura has a bit of trouble, very much excused, and Azzy has pointed me in the direction of a friend who will be sedning today, fingers crossed. Sophie and Hannah I've tried to get in contact with in a variety of ways...hopefully they will read this and get back!

Envelopes and paper the next on the 'to do' list, as colour ink sorted. Oh, I should warn readers - my printer likes blue over black, so it might creep in from time to time! Need to make sure I've got everyone's details sorted for the list of contributors page. So, their surname, where they live, what they do and whether they have written something before...I am a PM or an email away! Same goes for postage, but I'm not quite there yet. Will be this time next week hopefully. Get your post office savings in order then...

Aim to do another issue too, so if you didn't get the chance this time, the next is just a bit away. I am happy to read work by anyone. For written work, a couple of hundred words minimum, and for poems, no real limit. All those contributors, start 'advertising' and promoting. So start on this thread, and other online ways I am not too adept at.

Keep in contact,

Hello all,

I've send most people asking for postal addresses to send the 'zine to when finished. Send me a PM or an email if you would like a copy! Should be finished soon!

Good afternoon all.

I think we are ready to go with the first issue. Printing is the final step really, so will do a fair few before going into Edinburgh this afternoon. International first, since their postage will take longest seems a fair way! Then tomorrow, I will concentrate on our UK Cribs-ers. At the moment, no Northern Ireland or Wales...letting the side down. Even this strange country of Scotland has a few people involved!

Royal Mail tells me that it will be a few euros (if the currency stays solvent) to western Europe, and a few cents more to eastern Europe.

Also, the UK should be a pound, give or take a few pennies either way. The post office in this small town will be surprised we have links with so many people home and abroad! I fear sabotage....

One final thing: the words everyone has written for this issue are great, so thank you. The photos, on my poor excuse for a printer, have came out...skewed. Some are deliberately like that, as Martine says a 'retro' / 'vintage' feel, but some are are of top standard. Oh dear! Not to worry, the words make up for it!

If you would like a copy and have not got in touch, as two people did yesterday, get in touch here, PM or through email. Anyone, contributor or not, is welcome. I would like other writings for the next issue too...

To all contributors, or people I have spoken to, I have your addresses and things for the most part. So you do not have to get in touch about wanting one. Just get in touch about PayPal and all the fun that brings.

I hope you like it,

Evening all,

Trusty post office visit today to send a few 'off-the-beaten-tracks' copies...

For the UK, it will cost £1.15

For Europe, it will cost £1.75. So, to convert to euros, about €1.99. Exchange rate today as 1.1336E to 1GDP. For non-euro countries, not a bad thing at the moment I must say, we can figure something out.

For any other country or region, I will be happy to ask and work out some conversion rates.

If you would like a copy, please email my address chrismaclachlan619@hotmail.co.uk or a PM on here.

If funds are a problem, or something is back-o-beyond (the Antipodes, Fife), I am all ears.
