Crystal Palace have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of defender Patrick Kisnorbo.
We revealed last week that Derby County were ready to hijack Palace's move for the central-defender who spent last week training with the south Londoners.
Kisnorbo played the first-half of Palace's pre-season victory over Boreham Wood last Thursday - but then turned out for the Rams in their friendly against Burton Albion on Saturday.
And County boss Nigel Clough has confirmed he will make concrete his interest in the former Leicester man.
"We were very pleased with what we saw from Patrick for around an hour.
"It is well documented that centre-half is a position we are looking to improve and he may well be an improvement on what we have got.
"He has got Championship experience and although he is not 6ft 3in or 6ft 4in, he competes well and he can play full-back as well, so it covers us in that position.
"We will sit down and have a chat with him."
With Palace in the USA, it seems County are in pole position to nab the 28-year-old defender.
sorry but i now have enough evidence to prove he is a great signing, especially for a free and you have err...nothing, so im going to give myself the win.
